Structure

An alder roundwood (L 0.99m; diam. 0.09m) at the top of a drain face. One end has a metal-cut wedge point. The piece is situated in moderately humified Sphagnum peat containing pockets of Eriophorum. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1997. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
