Structure

An irregular deposit (L 2m; Wth 0.8m; D 0.16m) of four pieces of ash brushwood (diam. 0.021-0.06m) on the field surface. No toolmarks are apparent but there is evidence for branch-trimming on one piece. The site lies in moderately humified Sphagnum peat with fibrous roots. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1993. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
