Structure

An ash roundwood (L 2.3m min.; diam. 0.1m) with evidence of woodworking at one end. Charcoal fragments are noted c. 0.15m from the worked end. The site lies in moderately humified Sphagnum peat containing pockets of Eriophorum. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1993. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
