What is recorded here
One roundwood (L 0.55m; diam. 0.065m) cut to a chisel point in the drain face. It is in poorly humified Sphagnum peat with Phragmites, Menyanthes seeds and ericaceous remains. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1998. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
