What is recorded here

A single ash roundwood (L 0.78m; diam. 0.066m) which lay horizontally on the surface of the bog. No toolmarks were noted but there was an absence of natural wood in the area. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1993. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
