Structure

A dispersed spread of light brushwood in opposing drain faces (Wth 1.34m; D 0.31m). A single piece lying at an angle of 75° may represent a peg but there is no evidence for a distinct structure. The brushwood is two pieces deep towards the centre of the spread. The pieces are irregularly orientated but have been disturbed by the cutting of the drain. A number of pieces show evidence for woodworking. Wood species include willow and hazel. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1993. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
