Structure

An area (Wth 0.57m; D 0.18m) of light brushwood on the field surface. The pieces are loosely arranged and a common orientation is not apparent. The site has been subject to machine damage. The end of one piece has been cut to a chisel point. Wood species include birch. The site is situated in well-humified Sphagnum peat. A second area (L 0.2m; Wth 0.2m), of loosely deposited brushwood is noted 1m NE of this site. It is not certain if these sites are related. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1993. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
