Structure

A piece of hazel brushwood (L 0.48m; diam. 0.03m) in the drain face. One end has a metal-cut chisel point. The piece is situated within poorly humified Sphagnum peat with occasional pockets of Eriophorum. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1993. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
