Structure

A small deposit (L 1.12m; Wth 0.78m; D 0.21m) of four pieces of dispersed, irregularly laid brushwood and two recovered wooden artifacts (02E0941:12, 02E0941:8). The site is set in well-humified Sphagnum peat with frequent Eriophorum, occasional ericaceous remains and Menyanthes seeds. One of the pieces of brushwood has been radiocarbon dated to 892-561 cal. BC (Wk-11734). Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 2002. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
