Structure

A band (Wth 1.5m; D 0.59m) of light brushwood with occasional twigs in the drain face. The brushwood is relatively evenly dispersed and irregularly orientated. No distinct zones or structures can be discerned. A single worked end was noted. Wood species include alder, hazel, oak, ash and willow. The site is located in well-humified, woody Sphagnum peat. It is located c. 0.2m above SMR OF015-163----. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1996. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
