Structure

Three pieces of brushwood and a roundwood (Wth 0.92m; D 0.17m) in the drain face. Three of the pieces are orientated N-S but the fourth piece does not appear to be in situ. Wood species include hazel and willow. The site is situated in poorly humified Sphagnum and Eriophorum peat. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1996. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
