What is recorded here

Archaeological testing (00E0241) identified undisturbed stratigraphy on a site at the corner of Cornmarket and Abbey St., which proved to be largely 15th century in date overlying earlier material (Wren 2002). Further excavation (00E0713) removed layers of medieval material dating from the 12th to the 14th centuries, but no features were recorded except for a medieval N-S clay-bonded wall (Wth 0.75m) at the E extremity of the site and this feature is preserved in situ (Noonan 2002). Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 20 December, 2012
