Structure in Casheltown (gartan Ed)

A subcircular area (DG052-001001-) enclosed by a stone wall, in places collapsed and at other points rebuilt and remodelled in recent times. The original wall width would seem to have been about 2.5m to 2.75m. The interior is flat. Externally to the S there are the remains of a small subcircular structure (Internal diam. 1.25m, external diam. 3.25m) of stones surviving to a height of c. 0.5m. A probable entrance faces E. The site is located on the SE slope of Leaghanmore above Gartan Lough in an area of some grazing land and tillage surrounded by boggy rocky land.
