Stone head

What is recorded here

A rectangular sandstone quoin with the carved head of a bishop is set in a window surround of the W wall of the modern church at the Augustinian priory (WA031-040005-). It may relate to the modern church rather than be a re-used piece from the older church. (Bradley et al. 1989, 39). Bradley, J., Halpin, A. and King, H. (1989) Urban archaeology Survey of Waterford City and County, 2 vols. Unpublished report commissioned by the Office of Public Works.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
