Stone circle Giants Grave

Megalithic structure

What is recorded here

Stone circle Giants Grave is a megalithic structure in Farranyharpy, County Sligo, Ireland. Seven erect and ten prostrate stones remain where a slab, 1.50m in maximum dimension, rests on two uprights and one prostrate stone. The true identity of the structure cannot be decided in its present condition.
This monument was first shown on the 1913 edition of the OS 6-inch map. Seven erect and ten prostate stones here were taken by the surveyors to be the remains of a stone circle. This does not seem to be a very likely interpretation but the nature of the structure cannot be decided in its present condition. A slab, 1.50m in maximum dimension, resting on two of the uprights and on a prostate stone was taken to be one of the "Giant's Graves". O Nualláin, S.
