Marian and I walked the stone circle at dusk, her boots striking mossy rock while I watched shadow lengthen across the ring. She touched a standing stone and laughed, saying it felt warm even though the air had turned cold. I wanted to dismiss her, but the ring did seem to hold heat taken from the day. We sat inside until darkness came, and I stopped asking what it was for because the circle had stopped being a thing to explain.

In heathland, 2.7m to NNW of radial stone enclosure (CO092-00901-). Rectangular stone (H 1.1m; 0.8m x 0.2m) aligned NE-SW. Probably dates to the Neolithic or Bronze Age, given its association with a radial stone enclosure. The alignment and positioning may have had ceremonial or astronomical significance, though specific folklore or use remains unrecorded.
