What is recorded here

Eleven low stones enclose a circular chamber on the elevated moorland above the Owvane river valley. They point inward like ribs of a forgotten drum, waiting for a hand large enough to strike them. The bog may still hide other stones, keeping the circle complete while human memory fails.

On elevated moorland on NW side of valley of Owvane river. Eleven stones, most set radially and averaging H 0.5m, enclose circular area (diam. 6.8m). Others may remain concealed by bog. Standing stone (CO092-00902-) protrudes from field fence 2.7m to N. (Ó Nualláin 1984, 78, no. 19) The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
