Culmore Fort stands as a stone blockhouse and earthworks in County Derry, carrying marks from the post-medieval, seventeenth and nineteenth centuries. Its scheduled status protects the remains of a place where human hands shaped stone and soil across generations. The fort may have guarded a coast, witnessed a clash or simply endured the rain, but its survival suggests people valued the position enough to build and keep it strong.
