It is a prominent local landmark with a distinctive summit, and its name derives from the Gaelic for "yellow hollow peak," possibly referring to the colour of the surrounding corrie or the rock. The hill is a popular destination for hillwalkers and contributes to the natural and recreational significance of the Stirling area.
