Limestone steps in five flights of three steps to Travers Street footpath, c. 1820. Previously eight flights, lower flights removed on construction of houses in 1995.

These steps form part of an interesting group with similar nineteenth-century paving schemes. Steps such as these are found in many locations throughout the city, and contribute to its unique character. These paving schemes utilised cut limestone, which in many cases has been replaced or covered with concrete. These steps are a particularly well maintained example, and retain well executed tooled limestone treads and risers.
