What is recorded here
Flight of nine tooled cut-limestone flagged steps, c.1800, with iron railings leading to elevated footpath having irregular coursed squared limestone retaining wall incorporating slight batter, and cut-limestone coping/kerbing. Road fronted.
An appealing, if subtle feature in the streetscape exhibiting a traditional means of finishing footpaths employing locally-sourced natural materials: inscribed detailing to the steps further enhances the aesthetic appeal of the site in the street scene.
