What is recorded here

Flight of eight cut-limestone steps, c.1875, with iron railings having cast-iron tapered polygonal piers with finials.
Displaying a traditional construction employing locally-sourced limestone a flight of steps exhibits a picturesque quality lacking in modern cement and concrete steps. Forming an attractive, if subtle feature in the streetscape, following the incline of the street and accommodating the change in level of the footpath, the visual appeal of the site is further enhanced by the survival of early iron railings incorporating distinctive piers.
