Detached three-bay two-storey former station master’s house, built c.1865, having pitched roofed porch to front (north) with recent extensions to sides (east, west) and rear (south). Lean-to glass house to rear of side (west) extension. Now in use as house. Pitched slate roofs with rendered chimneystack, cast-iron rainwater goods with timber clad eaves course and timber bargeboards to gables. Timber finials to gabled dormers and porch. Square-headed window openings with render sills throughout, having timber sliding sash windows to rear, with replacement timber casement windows to front. Square-headed door opening to porch having timber battened door. Set within own grounds.

Originally built as a station master's house, this house retains much of its original form and character with many of its historic features remaining intact. Together with the adjacent former station and bridge, this railway group once played a significant role in the local community and is a reminder of the extent of the railway network in the past.
