Slieveroe holds a standing stone in County Cork, but the facts stop short of explaining when it rose or why. The stone may have marked a boundary, a burial, a meeting place or a warning, yet no human voice has answered that question. It still stands while memory retreats, forcing every visitor to invent the life it witnessed.
