STANDING STONE (O.S. memoir site; unlocated) in Lemnagh Beg

STANDING STONE (O.S. memoir site; unlocated)

What is recorded here

No one knows which stone the surveyor marked or whether it still stands. The official point floats in empty field, a ghost coordinate waiting for a boot to press it into earth. Perhaps a woman walked past it every day for forty years and never named it. Maybe the stone is buried under bracken now, or maybe it is the largest rock in the county and everyone simply stopped looking.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as STANDING STONE (O.S. memoir site; unlocated). Recorded period: PREHISTORIC; UNCERTAIN. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
