What is recorded here

No visible stone remains in Clegnagh, though the survey marker still points to a prehistoric standing stone buried beneath grass, roadworks or forgetting. The absence does not diminish the fact that people stood before it, judged its height against the sky and carried that measurement into every choice they made. It is recorded nowhere else, which means the land kept the shape while human memory released it.
