Muskerry West By. holds a rectangular stone, eighty centimetres tall and half a metre wide, leaning slightly on a boggy slope. It faces east-northeast, pointing toward a hidden stone circle eighty-five metres away. The wet ground has swallowed every road and footprint that once crossed this place, leaving only the stone and its distant companion to mark the shape of forgotten human life.

In a boggy area, on a slight WSW-facing slope. This standing stone (0.5m x 0.35m; H 0.8m) is rectangular in plan and section and is orientated ENE-WSW. There is a stone circle (CO048-097001-) and another standing stone (CO048-097002-) located c. 85m to the SE. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
