What is recorded here
No trace remains of the untitled standing stone marked on the second edition OS map, though good land and wide views towards Tyrone still hold the shape of what vanished. Forgetting is not the same as loss; it is a rebirth into mystery. The stone may have been chipped for wall, buried under plough, or simply walked past until it stopped being named. What is certain is that the land kept the sight line long after the marker disappeared.
There is no trace of the standing stone shown untitled on the 2nd edition of the OS 6-inch map. Situated on good land with extensive views towards Co. Tyrone.
The above description was derived from the 'Archaeological Survey of County Donegal. A description of the field antiquities of the County from the Mesolithic Period to the 17th century.' Compiled by: Brian Lacey with Eamon Cody, Claire Cotter, Judy Cuppage, Noel Dunne, Vincent Hurley, Celie O'Rahilly, Paul Walsh and Seán Ó Nualláin (Lifford: Donegal County Council, 1983). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated.
