What is recorded here

An unknown hand set the grey hoary stone in Tooreennagrena, perhaps to mark a boundary, a burial or a promise. People walked past it for generations, yet no exact date or owner has emerged from the silence. The field kept its shape while the stone disappeared, leaving behind a hole in memory rather than a hole in the ground.

Bowman (1934, 88) recorded standing stone on Mrs Curtin's land; in field called 'Cloclee (An cloc Liath, the grey hoary stone). This dallan has been removed'. Exact location not known.
