In a waterlogged area covered with overgrowth. A horseshoe-shaped mound (7m NNE-SSW; 4m WNW-ESE) of heat-shattered stones and charcoal-enriched soil, with an E-facing opening, was discovered during archaeological monitoring of ground preparation works in advance of afforestation (O'Mahony 2005).
