What is recorded here

Dooish mountain still holds the standing stone, though no map has ever caught it. The slope is crowded with rock outcrop, so the boundary between made and natural blunts. A stone that large may have been a marker, a tomb or a warning. It may also be a mountain ledge that people learned to see as a stone. Either way, the mountain kept the shape and withheld the meaning.

There is no trace of the 'Standing Stone' marked on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map. Situated on the SE slope of Dooish mountain in an area of much rock outcrop.
