Standing stone in Lackendarragh

Standing stone

What is recorded here

Bowman (1934, 549) recorded standing stone '...2ft 1in by 8ft 3ins girth' on E. Linehan's land '220yds. N. [sic] of Fort (c)' (probably 12711). Exact location not known. May be to W of ringfort as Bowman appears to have confused compass points for direction of sites in relation to each other. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 14 January 2009

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
