What is recorded here

Knockoura holds a one-metre upright stone on a south-east facing slope, aligned north-east to south-west among rough grazing. The stone is small enough to overlook yet large enough to resist forgetting. It may have marked a boundary, a burial or a promise made before writing existed. Whatever it recorded, the land kept the shape while human memory slipped away.
