Knawhill held a standing stone on Cornelius Flynn's land until men broke it, leaving only a one-foot stump wide enough to measure seven feet and one inch around. That much girth still circles the wound in the earth, large enough for several people to join hands around the ghost of the missing shaft. The lost height may have marked a boundary, a burial or a warning, but the broken stump refuses to explain itself and demands to be imagined instead.

Bowman (1934, 619) recorded standing stone on Cornelius Flynn's land; 'This was broken many years ago, the portion which now remains is about 1ft high by 7ft 1in in girth'. Exact location not known.
