What is recorded here
Kinnoghty holds two stones instead of one because the first may have broken and someone forced the larger piece to stand beside its own stump. They form a right angle in fair pasture north of Loughros Beg, like a sentence interrupted but refusing to delete itself. Local memory adds a cross on the south face and links the pair to the Tober Connell stations, suggesting the damage did not diminish the place but redirected its purpose.
A standing stone (DG082-001001-). Another stone, .8m high × 0.82m wide × 0.14m thick, is set at right angles to the first one. It may be that the original standing stone was broken and the broken part was re-erected beside the stump. Fagan (Bk. 21, 39) notes that there was said to be a cross on the S side and that it was said to be part of the Tober Connell stations. Situated in fair pasture land immediately N of the E end of the Loughros Beg inlet.
