Kilmeedy East held a six-foot gallan stone before the land claimed it back. Broker measured the giant in 1937, but the field swallowed the mark where it stood. Men may have stacked stone there to judge distance or remember a dead name. The earth keeps that much longer than written words.

According to Broker (1937, 30), 'gallán about 6 feet high' in this townland. Exact location not known. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
