Standing stone in Killeens (cork By.)

Standing stone

What is recorded here

Standing stone in Killeens (cork By.) is a 1.3m upright stone in pasture, County Cork, Ireland. It is a visible marker, not a hidden myth. A person may have set it, pointed at it, or passed it without thought. The stone still stands because it has no reason to stop being seen.
In pasture. Upright stone measuring 1.3m H; 0.5m x 0.15m. (Walsh 1985, 75, 118, no. 87) The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 2: East and South Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1994). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 14 January 2009
