What is recorded here

Islandav once held a standing stone, but people broke and removed it in 1928. What remains is a prostrate irregular fragment, 1.1m long, lying in pasture on a gentle SE-facing slope. The disappearance is sharper than the stone: a place named for a marker that no longer stands.

In pasture, on gentle SE-facing slope. Stone (L 1.1m; 0.9m x 0.4m) is irregular in plan and section, in prostrate position. Bowman (1934, 477) refers to stone in this townland which was 'broken and removed in 1928'. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
