No stone remains in Gneeves, but two shadows once stood fifteen feet apart beside the ringfort. One broke to a foot-high stump, the other rose two feet three inches with an eleven-foot-three-inch girth. They may have marked a doorway, a warning or a memory, yet even that much has faded from the soil.

Bowman (1934, 517) recorded two standing stones c. 6m S of ringfort (12534); 'these are 15ft apart. (a) was broken, remaining part 1ft high, by 6ft 3in girth. (b) 2ft 3in by 11ft 3in girth'. No surface trace of stones to S of ringfort. Exact location not known. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
