Standing stone

What is recorded here

Situated at the tip of a broad NW-SE spur at the SE foothills of Forth Mountain. This is a slate stone with a rectangular cross-section (dims. 0.7m x 0.2m; H 2.2m) aligned SSE-NNW with two perforations near the top and an unfinished one near the base. It was probably an unfinished gatepost, and has been removed since 1989. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload/revision: 4 July, 2013
