What is recorded here

Situated at the tip of a broad NW-SE spur at the SE foothills of Forth Mountain. This is a slate stone with a rectangular cross-section (dims. 0.7m x 0.2m; H 2.2m) aligned SSE-NNW with two perforations near the top and an unfinished one near the base. It was probably an unfinished gatepost, and has been removed since 1989. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996).
