Standing stone in Farranfadda

Standing stone in Farranfadda is a one-metre-high, north-south rectangular stone on a SW-facing bog slope above the Cooleenlemane River in County Cork. It rises through rough pasture like a forgotten room marker, tall enough to touch but not tall enough to command distance. People may have set it beside a boundary, a loss or a seasonal path, then stepped past it so often it became ordinary. The valley keeps that withheld purpose alive in its tilt, shadow and wet ground.
