The 'Gallaun' marked on the OS maps was located immediately W of a field boundary on very gently sloping ground c. 100m E of the Owenascaul river. A track now runs along this side of the fence and the stone may have been removed to accommodate this. The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne.
