Standing stone in Dalystown

Standing stone

What is recorded here

Dalystown still holds a low, pointed stone on wet ground, aligned north to south and surrounded by small packing stones. It is not a tall monument or a obvious boundary marker. It is the kind of place where people may have stood in rain, touched rough stone and left behind a story no longer spoken.
On wet, low-lying ground. This low, subrectangular block tapers to a point (H 0.9m; Wth 0.8m; T 0.3m) and is aligned NNE-SSW. There are a number of small packing-stones at its base. Compiled by: Patrick F. O'Donovan Date of upload: 19 December 2012
