Standing stone in Cúil Na Cathrach

Standing stone

What is recorded here

Standing stone in Cúil Na Cathrach is a possible standing stone in County Cork, Ireland: a 2m x 0.6m, 1.8m high rock aligned NE-SW beside an outcropping ridge. It still points across rough grazing and distant fields like a boundary marker forgotten by everyone but the land.
In rough grazing, on the SE side of a NE-SW rocky ridge with a limited view E-SW over the surrounding undulating countryside. This possible standing stone (2m x 0.6m; H 1.8m) is orientated NE-SW and is situated 2m from outcropping rock. Smaller loose stones are scattered around the base. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 5' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). Date of upload: 22 December 2009

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
