What is recorded here

Cooryeen holds a rectangular standing stone on a western ridge above Lough Inchiquin, with two boulder burials within a few metres. It is not a grand monument, but a small sharp mark in hill pasture, perhaps guiding people past the dead or toward the water below. The lake still glitters under it when the wind clears, making the stone appear less like ruins and more like a threshold.

In rough hill pasture, on top of a ridge, on a W-facing slope, overlooking Lough Inchiquin. This standing stone (0.8m x 0.6m; H 1.07m) is rectangular in plan and section and is orientated WNW-ESE. Boulder burials (KE101-059001-, KE101-059002-) lie 4m to the NE and 2m to the N, respectively. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry.
