What is recorded here

Four centuries of rain and cart wheels have not removed it. The tall thin granite slab still stands beside the old enclosure, though men have driven a hole through its body and forced it to hold a farm gate. It has become a servant to living fields, yet its width and height suggest it was placed there long before fences or ownership. What it marked has been forgotten, but the stone remembers by refusing to break.

Some 12m ESE of an enclosure (GA022-024----). Incorporated into a modern field wall and perforated for use as a gatepost. Tall thin granite slab (H 1.9m), rectangular in plan, and aligned WNW-ESE.
