Cashel More ringfort in County Cork once held a standing stone now moved into Cashelmore House grounds. The fort has three ditches, which suggests it was not an ordinary farmstead but a place set apart for show, defense or ritual. The stone may have marked a boundary, honoured someone or watched over the fort gate. However it was set, it still stands, carrying that old purpose into a private garden.

This record constitutes the original location of a standing stone now standing in grounds of Cashelmore House (CO109-061002-). It was originally located within a trivallate ringfort (CO109-061001-). Compiled by: Mary Tunney Date of upload: 20 January 2010

Likely dating to the Early Christian or Iron Age period, the standing stone may have had ritual or territorial significance, possibly linked to the adjacent ringfort. Its relocation to Cashelmore House grounds may have disrupted its original context, but it may still reflect local traditions or land division practices.
