Standing stone in Camp (trughanacmy By., Ballyseedy Ed) stands 1.85m tall beside a farmhouse gate in County Kerry, moved there in the late 1940s from its original place at the western end of a nearby cairn. It tapers from a broad rectangular base to a narrow tip, like a finger pointing at something forgotten. The stone may have marked a boundary, a burial, or a camp, but its new job is simple: holding a gate open to human life.

'Now used as a gatepost beside a farmhouse, this stone was taken from its in situ position, adjacent to the western end of the above cairn (KE038-101----) and set up in this new location in the late 1940's (local information). The stone itself measures 1.85m in height, and is 0.35m by 0.18m at base. The base of this stone is rectangular in plan, and the stone itself is somewhat rectangular in shape, although it does taper to a narrow point, measuring 0.08m by 0.05m at its tip.'
