What is recorded here

The standing stone in Boherload is a limestone pillar, barely half a metre taller than a child, set in a shallow dip at the foot of a south-east slope. It stands where the land folds slightly downward, as if the ground itself bent to receive it. Cattle have rubbed its surface smooth in places, and lichen maps its cracks in pale green and grey. It does not tower or threaten; it waits, patient and small, beneath the watch of Knockea Hill.

Situated at the base of a SE-facing slope in poorly drained pasture. Overlooked by Knockea Hill to NE, by a hill in Ballynagarde townland to SE and with good views to S. Upright irregular-shaped limestone (H 0.8m; Wth. 0.4-0.6m) in a gentle depression defined by a scarp edge (D 0.2m; Wth. 0.8m). Fissured and lichen-covered, well rubbed by cattle in places.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
